The ICANSERVE Foundation is soliciting PPEs (personal protective equipment) for breast cancer patients undergoing treatment, as well as barangay health workers and barangay-based patient navigators who are helping them get to scheduled treatments on time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has worn down the Philippine health system. National and local government resources have been overstretched in battling the virus that it has little left for other diseases like cancer.
Many barangay health workers haven’t stopped serving cancer patients but are in need of a continuous supply of PPEs. Cancer is a top cause of mortality and morbidity in the Philippines and patients can’t afford delays in their treatments.
