Celebrities whose lives have been touched by cancer will be joining over 1,000 cancer survivors at the PICC on September 28, 2019 for Silver Linings, a whole day summit of education and inspiration for the cancer community.
The largest gathering of its kind in the country, Silver Linings is organized by ICANSERVE Foundation, to coincide with the non-profit organization’s 20th anniversary of providing help and hope to cancer survivors and their loved ones.
In its 20 years of service, ICANSERVE has drawn many prominent personalities to its cause. Whether they themselves survived cancer or had loved ones battle the disease, they are all united by the desire to help raise awareness and spread hope. The celebrity ambassadors who have generously volunteered to lend their voices to Silver Linings include Iza Calzado, Agot Isidro, Cherie Gil, Bituin Escalante, Mikee Cojuangco, James Deakin, Daphne Osena Paez, Mitzi Borromeo, Christine Jacob-Sandejas, David Celdran, Gaby Roldan-Concepcion, Maritoni Fernandez, Lea Salonga, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Karmina Constantino, Maan Hontiveros, Patty Betita, Melissa De Leon, Drew Arellano, Iya Villena, Etta Rosales, Chuchu Madrigal, Bibeth Orteza, and Fr. Jerry Orbos.
ICANSERVE’s celebrity volunteers will speak and/or moderate sessions with topics relevant to cancer survivors and their loved ones. These range from the personal (“Spiritual Healing,” “Dealing with Depression after Cancer,” “Healing through Storytelling and Journaling”), to the medical (“A Workshop on Nutrition and Well Being,” “Boosting your Immune System,” “Breast Cancer 101 and Follow up Care,”), to advocacy (“What is the Cancer Law,”, “”Amplifying the Patient Voice.”)
Silver Linings is on September 28, 2019, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the PICC. Visit ICanServe Foundation’s website to register. A modest P500 registration fee includes meals.
