Over 50 women went for a free breast check up on January 18, 2014 at the community breast cancer forum and screening conducted by ICanServe Foundation, Philips and the City of Davao.
The forum and screening, held at the Erico Nograles National High School covered court, educated the women of District 37 D, Poblacion, Davao City on basic breast care, myths and symptoms of breast cancer.
Philips country manager Fabia Bueno-Tetteroo and Philips Lighting product manager and consumer care manager Ria Nunez led the activity, together with ICanServe Advocacy head Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala and executive director Lanie Eusebio.
Joining them were Davao City-based oncologist Dr. Honey Abarquez; guest doctors from the Makati Medical Center led by Dr. Melodie Remorca; Dr. Fay Coloma of the Philippine College of Surgeons, Southern Mindanao Chapter; and volunteers of Davao support groups Smiles and Living Hope.
The forum is part of a series of partnerships with local government units for the Philips Simply Healthy Program, in partnership with ICanServe.
